VFL NEWS

Vintage Football League III

Sunday July 31, 2005

Hello Football Fans,

I am getting ready to start another fantasy football league for 2005!

It will follow the same rules as last year.  You can view them on the home page.

The NFL Preseason starts August 6th.  You are welcome to invite any new members after that time.  The VFL Preseason schedule is posted.  Hopefully, the system will not suffer its usual preseason crash, and we will be able to enjoy a different schedule this year.

  • By September 8, 2005 - Pick or change your team (first come, first served)

Optional features:

  • Anytime - Trade or create personalized players

Last year's members are already included in this year's league and do not have to respond unless a change is requested.  Members have first right of refusal on their teams from last year.

2005 Preseason - Vintage Power Rankings

  1. Denver (4-0):  They are out for revenge from their Super Bowl blowout, and they look like they might just get it.
  2. Da Bears! (4-0):  The defense looks even better, but the offense could be shaky this year.
  3. Kansas City (3-1):  If they can survive their conference games, this team could be good.
  4. Indianapolis (3-1):  It will probably be another battle with the Pats for the division title.
  5. St. Louis (3-1):   They turned things around last year and got a Wild Card spot, but this year they are hoping for more.
  6. Dallas (3-2):  They have the best passing game, but the weak defense could spell another .500 season.
  7. New York Jets (2-2):  They were last in the toughest division last year but are looking to improve.
  8. New York Giants (2-2):  They haven't qualified for the playoffs in the past two years, could they really be better than the Eagles?
  9. Philadelphia (2-2):  They tied with the Giants in the preseason, but maybe they were just saving themselves for the real stuff.
